Commissions and Committees

The City of Lafayette is guided not only by an elected Mayor and six council members, but also by resident volunteers. Each committee or commission has different duties and responsibilities, number of members, and terms of office established by the City Charter, an ordinance, or a resolution.  Members of these committees are nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the Council.

If you are interested in serving on a City committee, please submit an application to City Hall; the application may be downloaded from our website (Volunteer Application) and will be considered when positions are available.
