The City of Lafayette is what is known as "full-service" city, meaning we provide utilities, safety, and emergency response services. Staff of the Public Works Department are responsible for the water, wastewater, storm and street systems. The Fire Department provides emergency response for a wide variety of needs. The City also contracts with the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement. In addition to these services, the City also provides building and land-use planning services, manages the City's elections, and a multitude of other behind the scenes services that keeps a modern city running.
