Councilor Tom Reed

My greatest personal achievement I have had is the joy of being married for 50 years to my wife Debbie. I am also blessed with two daughters and two grandchildren. I moved to Lafayette about 10 years ago and plan to spend the rest of my life here in this city.
From a business perspective, I spent my career in various financial management roles. I worked for Deloitte, one of the leading accounting firms in the nation, located in the U.S. Bancorp Tower in downtown Portland, as a Sr. Financial Analyst. I also spent 16 years with Avery, a leading manufacturing company, in various accounting, analysis, and financial management roles. In addition to these experiences, I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Business Administration. I am excited to apply this knowledge and experience to the finances of the city.
My core beliefs are to tell the truth in all matters, treat others as I would want to be treated, and to act on the basis that all people are equal and deserve fair behavior at all times. I believe we should all try to reduce human misery, whether financial, physical, or emotional. To do anything else makes no sense to me.
I am honored and excited for the opportunity that being a city councilor presents to maintain and improve the quality of life in our city.

Councilor Reed's term ends on December 31, 2028.
